CITY NEGLECT ANIMALS

Can't animal control do anything except pick on a pig? It's obvious the pig is not neglected, and it's well taken care of.

I called animal control about stray cats and kittens running all over our neighborhood, but it seems as though that's not its problem. If a starving mother cat brings her kittens to your door and you feed them, you're responsible for them - shots, license, etc.

So let citizens and taxpayers be warned. Donate no food to animals.

What do we pay animal-control officers for anyway? What exactly is their job? Call about a nuisance dog, cat, raccoon; it's your job to do all of the work for them. They want you to rent a trap, use your gas, time and wear and tear on your car.

The city needs a law that says you can't have a pet until it's spayed or neutered. Maybe then there will be fewer homeless animals and unwanted kittens.

It's a shame we pay all these outrageous taxes and can't get a decent service out of the city. The city should pay the taxpayers to do the work. We would do a better job.

Is it any wonder the taxpayer is fed up?
