My ability to use numbers was sorely taxed in a recent article I
wrote about time share resorts on the Outer Banks.
In the Real Estate Weekly edition (Aug. 12) of the story, I said
that
Barrier Island Station at Kitty Hawk owners were buying a
one-forty-ninth share of their building. In fact, buyers share
ownership with forty-nine others giving them a one-fiftieth.
In the same story, I gave Marvin Beard, an Outer Banks time-share
broker, credit for selling 15,000 weeks of time share over the last
12 years.
``I wish I had sold more than 15,000 weeks of time sharing,''
says Beard. ``The actual figure is more than 1,500.''
