I am grateful to Nancy Jobes, Susan Heintz and Scott Cairns (``Accepting Alice and Carol,'' letters, Aug. 1)! I'm glad to see other people can also see the warmth, love and compassion of Carol and Alice.
As a friend of this wonderful couple, I can say they are just like any other couple. They work, mow the lawn, go line dancing on Thursday nights and to church on Sunday mornings. They pay taxes, donate their time and talents to charity and help make their community a better place to live. They go camping, fishing and enjoy a good Tides game. This unselfish couple has given a lot to their families and to their church.
Every Sunday I sit next to them at church, and their positive attitude and warm smiles get my week off to a wonderful start.
