FIELD HEARING ON PEANUTS TO BE CONDUCTED IN SUFFOLK

Sen. John Warner, a member of the Senate agriculture committee, will hold a field hearing on the peanut program at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in City Council chambers, 441 Market St.

The purpose of the session - a formal hearing of the committee - is to solicit views on the program before the committee considers the 1995 farm bill.

The bill will set the government's support price for peanuts and other agricultural products.

Witnesses testifying will include Rep. Norman Sisisky, state agriculture commissioner Carlton Courter and state Sen. Fred Quayle as well as peanut farmers, shellers and manufacturers. by CNB
