CATHERINE A. THOMAS

Catherine A. ``Cat'' Thomas, 55, of the 1700 block of Lansing Ave., died Aug. 9, 1995, in Portsmouth.

Mrs. Thomas was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was employed in environmental services, attended Keys Business College in Portsmouth and was formerly employed at System Management in Norfolk. She was an honor student at Norfolk Skills Center where she studied to be a seamstress. She was the widow of George Thomas.

Survivors include a daughter, Michelle A. Thomas of Portsmouth; three sisters, Barbara Morris and Lola Pitt, both of Portsmouth, and Carolyn Taylor of Silver Spring, Md.; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Pitt and Earl Morris, both of Portsmouth; an aunt, Kittie Wilson of Portsmouth; special friends, Michelle Todd, Melissa Scoggins and Brent Reid; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Serenity Funeral Home by the Rev. Dwight O. Steele, Sr. Burial will be in Pleasant Shade Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at 85 Cambridge St., Portsmouth, at 1 p.m. for the processional.
