Richard R. ``Rick'' Sawyer, 40, a carpenter, died Aug. 11, 1995, in his home.
Mr. Sawyer was born in Portsmouth. He was a Protestant.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Browne Sawyer; a daughter, Anna E. Sawyer; a son, Daniel E. Sawyer; and his mother, Eileen M. James, all of Virginia Beach; a sister, Margaret S. Perkins of Chesapeake; a stepfather, Langley E. James of Virginia Beach; and two stepbrothers, Calvin B. James of Virginia Beach and Macy C. James of Petersburg, Va.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside chapel, by the Rev. Terry Beck and the Rev. Charles H. Wellons. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the family cemetery in Moyock, N.C. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ocean Park Rescue Squad.
