JOSEPH H. VOIGHT

Joseph Henley Voight, 65, died Friday, August 11, 1995, in Riverside Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Newport News and was a lifelong Peninsula resident. Mr. Voight worked as a boilermaker and with the quality inspection department at Newport News Shipbuilding, retiring in 1990 after 42 years service.

He was a member of Warwick Moose Lodge (NU)1711, the Progressive Club of Newport News Shipbuilding, and the National Harley Davidson Motorcycle Association. He was an avid country-western dancer and belonged to the Country Music Association. He will be fondly remembered by many for his love of motorcycle riding.

Mr. Voight is survived by his mother, Mrs. Virginia J. Voight of Newport News; one son, Michael H. Voight of Hampton; one daughter, Deborah E. Price of Newport News; one brother, Charles E. Voight of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Mary Lee Hill of Albuquerque, N.M.; two granddaughters, Nicole Dawn Price and Leah Katorina Price, both of Newport News; seven nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Leah Jo Voight of Williamsburg.

A graveside service with Moose rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peninsula Memorial Park by Deacon Ralph Scruggs. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Weymouth Funeral Home and also following the service at the home of his son, 33 Londonshire Terrace, after 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Voight's name to a favorite charity.
