CAREER TRACK

ACCOUNTING

Donald M. Dale, managing partner and chairman of the executive committee of Goodman & Company, certified public accountants in Norfolk, was awarded the 1995 Outstanding Financial Executive Award by the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants.

ADVERTISING

Ken Whitaker was promoted to art director of electronic imaging and design at Hambright, Calcagno & Downing Advertising and Public Relations in Virginia Beach. Whitaker, who joined the firm in October 1987, worked most recently as art director. In his new position, he will oversee all computer art directed projects.

ENGINEERING

Dinna F. Magno and Melissa McCanna have joined the architectural firm of Hayes, Seay, Mattern & Mattern Inc. in Virginia Beach. Magno has joined the firm as an architectural designer. She was formerly with MMM Design Group in Norfolk. McCanna joins the firm as an environmental scientist.

BANKING

Martin G. Levin has joined Princess Anne Bank in Virginia Beach as executive vice president. Levin will supervise the bank's commercial banking group. Before joining Princess Anne Bank, he was senior vice president with Crestar Bank for 22 years, where he supervised commercial banking activity in Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach.

HEALTH CARE

Mickey Proctor has joined the health care information management and communication firm of Managed Care Resources Inc. in Chesapeake as vice president of sales and marketing. Proctor served as director of the national health care programs for Sandoz Pharmaceuticals in Atlanta.

Jon T. Stone has also joined Managed Care Resources Inc. as vice president of managed care strategies. Most recently, Stone was the director of managed healthcare for Burroughs Wellcome Co. in Research Triangle Park, N.C.

Children's Hospital of The King's Daughter's has elected and installed the following new officers: Dr. H. Sheldon St. Clair as president; Dr. Bertrand A. Ross, vice president and Dr. Albert B. Finch, secretary/treasurer.

St. Clair is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon in practice with

Vann/Atlantic Orthopedics in Norfolk; Ross is a pediatric cardiologist at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters; and Finch is a pediatrician with Pediatric Diagnostic Center in Norfolk.

Meredith R. Salb was elected chairman of the board of the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. She has served on the CHKD board since 1989, most recently as vice chairman. Marilyn Kayer is the new vice chair of the hospital and E.J. Strelitz has been elected secretary.

Dr. Patricia L. Raymond has been named partner at Gastroenterology Associates of Tidewater in Norfolk and Chesapeake.

ORGANIZATIONS

The Institute of Management Accountants, Peninsula Chapter has elected Gail Najarian as president and Rodney Oliver as vice president for administration for the 1995/96 term.

LAW

Dennis T. Lewandowski, a partner in the Creditors' Right Practice Group of Kaufman & Canoles, a law firm in Norfolk, has been elected as vice chairman of the bankruptcy law section of the Virginia State Bar. Lewandowski has been with the law firm since 1986.

Robin Ray Coll has become an associate of the Norfolk law firm of Stackhouse, Smith & Nexsen. Coll, who received her law degree in 1994 from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law, specializes in corporate law, bankruptcy, trust and estates and family law.

William W. Tunner has also become an associate of Stackhouse, Smith & Nexsen. Tunner, who received his law degree in 1995 from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law, specializes in civil litigation, insurance defense and labor law.

MANUFACTURING

John E. Cotton Jr. has joined Allied Colloids North America in Suffolk as the manager of human resources. Cotton was formerly the director of benefits and employment at Southern States Cooperatives' headquarters in Richmond. Prior to that, he was assistant personnel director for the Delcomoraine Division of General Motors in Dayton, Ohio.

MID-ATLANTIC

Ann Greer Rector was elected as vice president and controller of Owens & Minor in Richmond. Previously, Rector was vice president and controller at USAir Group Inc. in northern Virginia.

Owens & Minor is a national wholesale distributor of medical and surgical supplies, pharmaceutical and other related products.
