REMEMBER JAPAN'S WAR CRIMES IN CHINA

Over the past weeks much has been said about the atomic bomb and its use in World War II. I think that all the talk about it is good since people rarely examine history and learn anything from it. But what saddens me to a degree and angers me a whole lot is the portrayal of the Japanese as victims.

Allied soldiers in Japan did not go out into the streets and compete to see who could kill more women and children. No one went out and cut the wombs out of pregnant women. No one took random people off the streets of Hiroshima and dissected them like animals. America admits that many people died as a result of the bombings and many are truly saddened that those people had to die.

The Japanese in some cases have not admitted that the Nanjing massacre even happened. The atrocities listed above are only the tip of the iceberg. No one has paid for a fraction of the war crimes committed in China. The victims are not the Japanese aggressors. The Japanese stomped on China and there has been no mention of this anywhere.

We must learn the real history or repeat it. At the age of 16, it is likely that my generation or the generation after me will see the results of forgetting the true victims of World War II.

Don't forget the war crimes committed in China by the Japanese.
