George Herman Reid Jr., of the 300 block of Harrison St., died August 5, 1995, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.
He was a native of Southampton County, Va. He was a retired carpenter. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Franklin.
Survivors include six daughters, Pearlene Jackson, Alice Bowers, Daisy Funches, Betty Bryant, Carolyn Goodwyn, and Janice Goodwyn, all of Franklin; son, George E. Reid of Philadelphia, Pa.; 31 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, August 16, 1995, at 1 p.m. in St. Paul United Church of Christ by the Rev. J.J. Ferguson. Burial will be in St. Paul Church Cemetery. William M. Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in charge.
