George Butler Derrick Jr., 65, of Irmo, died Aug. 14, 1995.
Mr. Derrick was born in Taylors, S.C. He was a son of the late George Butler and Hazel Moose Derrick. A graduate of Newberry College, he retired from Travelers Insurance Company and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Midlands Senior Golfers, Golden Hills Golf Club, Lake Murray Sailing Club, and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Kelly ``Betty'' Derrick of Irmo, S.C.; a son, Scott Derrick of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Eugene Derrick of Easley, S.C.; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church with burial in Ridgecrest Cemetery, Leesville, S.C. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel.
