HARRY GORDON FAUNTLEROY

Harry Gordon FauntLeRoy, retired manager of the Virginia Branch of the American Tobacco Company, died Friday, Aug. 11, 1995 in a local hospital after a long illness.

Mr. FauntLeRoy began working at American Tobacco Company in 1946 and after 36 years, retired as manager in 1982. A native of Baltimore, he attended St. John's College in Annapolis and Johns Hopkins University.

During the first years of World War II, Mr. FauntLeRoy was in the 101st Airbourne, he then transferred as a First Lieutenant to the Army Air Corps. Upon completion of his training, he piloted B-24 Bombers and the B-29 Super Fortresses. After Mr. FauntLeRoy retired, he devoted much of his time to volunteer work at the Science Museum and gave over 5500 hours of his time to Richmond Metropolitan Hospital. He was an active member of the Country Club of Virginia.

Surviving Mr. FauntLeRoy are his wife, Nancy W. FauntLeRoy; two sons, Gordon Randolph and Robert Bolling FauntLeRoy; four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. John U. Benson.

A memorial service was held 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 14, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the West End Rescue Squad, St. Stephen's Church or the Westminster-Canterbury Fellowship Fund.
