James Louis Knight, 61, of the 1200 block of Blythewood Lane, died Aug. 13, 1995, in Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth.
Mr. Knight, a native of Edgecomb County, N.C., was employed at Norfolk Naval Supply Center. He was an Army veteran, and the son of the late John T. Gray and Lillie M. Knight-Gray.
Survivors include his wife, Annie D. Knight; four daughters, Yvette R. Knight, Angela A. Knight, Sharon E. Knight, Cheryl Bryant, and one foster daughter, Sharon Riley, all of Suffolk; six sons, Larry M. Knight, James C. Knight, Tony M. Knight, Johnny M. and wife, Doris Knight, Gary C. and wife, Celestine Knight, Breon Pearson, all of Suffolk; one foster sister, Atletha Johnson of Suffolk; and 20 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary E. Gray and Maggie Cato; and one daughter, Donna M. Knight.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in New Mt. Joy Church of God in Christ, 307 County St., Suffolk, by Elder W.P. Wiggins. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Crocker Funeral Home Chapel. All other times at the residence, 1222 Blythewood Lane, Suffolk. Mr. Knight rests at the Crocker Funeral Home.
