Dallas Thurston Stallings Sr., 78, of the 800 block of Johnston St., died Aug. 16, 1995, in the Chowan Hospital.
A native of Perquimans County, Mr. Stallings was a son of the late Charles Beecher and Edna Copeland Stallings, and the husband of Mrs. Gladys Bunch Stallings of Edenton. Mr. Stallings was retired from the peanut industry where he began his career with the Albemarle Peanut Company. Mr. Stallings retired from the Golden Peanut Company. He was a member of the Edenton Baptist Church where he was a deacon, and served on many committees, and attended the Lloyd Griffin Bible Class.
Surviving, other than his wife, is a son, Dallas T. Stallings Jr. of Winchester; his daughter, Carolyn S. Tetterton of Plymouth, N.C.; his sister, Callie Bossuot of Norfolk; and his three grandchildren, Jackie Tetterton, Ray Tetterton, and Trip Stallings.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Edenton Baptist Church, by Dr. Kenneth Word and the Rev. James Hyatt. Burial will follow in the Beaver Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the residence. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Edenton Baptist Church Music Department, 206 S. Granville St., Edenton, N.C. 27932. Evans Funeral Home in charge.
