HARRELL D. COPELAND

Harrell Derring Copeland, 76, of 825 Greensboro Ave., 23451, died Thursday, August 17, 1995, in his residence. He was a native of Ahoskie, N.C., and was the beloved husband of Edythe Thompson Copeland. He retired in 1981 after 36 years as a math teacher at Virginia Beach Junior High School. He was a member of Beachlawn Baptist Church.

In addition to his beloved wife, Edythe, he is survived by one daughter, Christina C. Talley of Virginia Beach; three sons, Harrell D. Copeland Jr. of Merritt Island, Fla., James G. Copeland of Chesapeake, Va., and Carey T. Copeland of Virginia Beach; one brother, Edward T. Copeland of Henderson, N.C.; and four granddaughters.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the Maestas Funeral Home, Baltic Avenue Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, August 19, 1995, at 2 p.m. in Ahoskie Cemetery, Ahoskie, N.C., by the Rev. Ted A. James, pastor of First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad Building Fund, P.O. Box 945, Virginia Beach, Va. 23451, or the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513.
