David Leroy Hopewell Sr., 89, died Aug. 17, 1995.
A native of Mount Jackson, Va., he was the son of the late James and Hanna Orebaugh Hopewell and the widower of Edith Dorothy Chniel Hopewell. Mr. Hopewell served in the Army and was a retired store manager for Southern Oxygen. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Corinthian Lodge (NU)266, Norfolk, Khedive Temple and the Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies.
Survivors include his daughter, Joan Collins of Bowling Green, Va.; a son, David L. Hopewell Jr. of Suffolk; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sat. at 2 p.m. at the graveside in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, by Dr. Alan Felumlee. The family will be at his son's home, 414 Forest Hill Crescent.
