VENITA G. GRIFFIN

Venita G. Griffin, 66, of Country Club Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 1995, in St. John Regional Memorial Hospital, St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, while attending a convention.

Mrs. Griffin, a native of Suffolk, was the widow of Chester C. Griffin Sr., and the daughter of the late Wesley L. and Susie Adams Goodrich. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. She was currently serving as grand chief of the Grand Temple Pythian Sisters of Virginia. She was a member of Southampton Temple (NU)15 Pythian Sisters and a member of El Fatima Santha No. 17, Nomads of Advrudaka. She was a member of the Southampton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, where she was leader of the Information Desk volunteers.

Survivors include a daughter, Darlene G. Dunlow of Courtland; two sons, Chester C. Griffin Jr. of Franklin and Gary C. Griffin of Disputanta; two sisters, Edith G. Mitchell and Paige G. Heise of Portsmouth; two brothers, Wesley L. Goodrich Sr. of Portsmouth and Charles R. Goodrich of Little Rock, Ark.; three granddaughters, Natalie R. Schaefer, Kelsey L. Griffin and Megan E. Griffin; and one grandson, Michael D. Dunlow.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Franklin Baptist Church. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will accept friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, and at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Dunlow, 23311 Hanging Tree Road, Courtland.
