John Owen Slayton Sr., 59, of 429 Seeman Road, died Aug. 16, 1995, in his residence.
He was a retired life insurance agent. He was born in Norfolk and was a member of First Christian Church ``Disciples'' in Norfolk.
He is survived by his wife, Judith F. Slayton; four daughters, Elizabeth Anne Smiley, Laurie Legh Corvello, Theresa Ellen Zirnheld; and Judith Grace Slayton, all of Virginia Beach; two sons, John Owen Slayton Jr. of Virginia Beach and Robert Faris Slayton of Virginia Beach; his mother Grace Fischer Slayton of Virginia Beach; and ten grandchildren.
A funeral service wil be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norristown, Pa. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
