ELVEANA J. MERRITT

Elveana J. Merritt, 75, joined her heavenly father on Aug. 17, 1995 while staying at her daughter's residence in the 4500 block of Hampshire Ave., Norfolk. Mrs. Merritt was formerly of the 1200 block of Poindexter St. South Norfolk, Chesapeake.

She was the widow of Kenneth Merritt. Elveana was a member of Calvary Temple Baptist Church and the Weavers Guild. Mrs. Merritt was retired as a photographer.

Mrs. Merritt was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Foster, and one daughter, Carol Lane. Survivors include two daughters, Lillie Halfhill of Suffolk, Gloria Hollobaugh of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by a host of friends and family but her memory will live in all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. at Calvary Temple Baptist Church, Saturday, Aug. 26, 1995.
