JOSEPH L. CARTONIA SR.

Joseph Leonard Cartonia Sr., 57, died Aug. 19, 1995, in Norfolk.

He was a foreman in the machine shop at Moon Engineering Co. Inc. where he worked for 30 years. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and was the widower of Christine Bayer Cartonia. He was Catholic. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by three daughters, Tammy Cartonia Hinkle of Richmond, Va., JoAnna Lynn Cartonia, and Brittany Nichole Cartonia, both of Norfolk; one son, Joseph Leonard Cartonia Jr. of Norfolk; mother, Jacqueline Cartonia Huntress of Melbourne, Fla.; father, Nicholas Cartonia of Denton, Tex.; one sister, Lucy M. Martini, of Virginia Beach; four brothers, Frank Cartonia of Key West, Fla., John Hulzing of Richmond, Edward Hulzing of Melbourne, Fla., and Robert Hulzing of Key West, Fla.; and one grandchild, Evan Joseph Hinkle of Richmond.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be private and at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
