Alta DeHart Sutherland, a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach, residing at 1704 Bohnhoff Court, 23454, was born May 19, 1949, and passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 1995, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
She was a daughter of Etta H. DeHart of Virginia Beach, and the late Roy L. DeHart, and the wife of Robert F. Sutherland.
She was a graduate of Elon College, Past President of Phi Mu Sorority, and past member of the Sandpiper Circle of the King Daughters.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by two daughters, Anna Nicole Sutherland and Jennifer Leigh Sutherland; one brother and sister-in-law, Daniel D. and Patricia A. DeHart; one nephew, Christopher L. DeHart and his wife Amber A. DeHart; and one niece, Dana D. DeHart, all of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service with entombment will be conducted Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. in Princess Anne Memorial Park, 1110 N. Great Neck Road by Reverend Tommy J. Taylor. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Maestas Funeral Home Baltic Avenue Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Building Fund, P.O.
