Viola Langley Colson, 96, of Route 4, Box 787, died Aug. 22, 1995, in Albemarle Hospital.
She was a native of Tyrrell County, N.C., and a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Frank Langley Sr. and Ann Liza Sawyer Langley and the widow of Paul Colson Sr.
Survivors include a son, Paul Colson Jr. of Hertford; one sister, Lucille Dail of Windsor, N.C.; one brother, Frank Langley Jr. of Hertford; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, N.C. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence of her son, Paul Colson Jr. Route 4, Box 787, Hertford.
