PASTOR ON COA BOARD

The Rev. Charles L. Foster, pastor of Holy Trinity Community Church in Elizabeth City, has been appointed to the College of the Albemarle's Board of Trustees by Gov. James B. Hunt Jr.

Foster was sworn in Monday before the Pasquotank County commissioners.

``Thank you, for your willingness to serve. I am deeply grateful for people like you who are willing to give their time and talent to make North Carolina all that it can be and must be,'' Hunt told the Elizabeth City clergyman in a letter last week confirming the appointment.

Foster, 62, has taught and served as an administrator at P.W. Moore High School and at Elizabeth City State University for 34 years. He holds degrees in education and a doctorate from Wilbur Waters Theological Seminary in Washington.
