The U.S. Justice Department has approved new locations for two polling places in Elizabeth City, Glenda W. Crane, supervisor of the Pasquotank County Elections Board, said Tuesday.
Polling Place 1-C, formerly at the Pelican Marine marina, has been moved to the Public Library on East Main Street, Crane said.
Polling Place 4-B, which has been in Riverside Methodist Church, has been moved to the Kermit E. White Center at Elizabeth City State University.
Voter registration books will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 5 p.m. through Friday, Sept. 15, in the Board of Election's office at the Pasquotank County Courthouse.
On Election Day - Tuesday, Oct. 10 - polls for the election of mayor and four council members will open at 6:30 a.m. and will close at 7:30 p.m., Crane said. by CNB
