NORFOLK AIRPORT TRAFFIC CONTINUES TO BE WEAK

After a weak first half of the year, passenger traffic at Norfolk International Airport continued to be weak in July. The Norfolk Airport Authority reported that 247,777 passengers traveled through its airport in July, down 28 percent from 344,712 passengers in the same month a year ago. The authority also reported that cargo shipped through the airport rose 6.7 percent to 5.1 million pounds in July from 4.8 million pounds a year earlier. The decline in passenger activity this year is attributed to the absence of the hard-fought airfare price wars of last year. (Staff) by CNB
