PUBLIC HEARING

A public hearing on the application of Colonel Bernard S. Rhees, to close a portion of Waterfront Drive from the northern line of 47th Street northwardly to the southern line of 48th Street. Approved, 6-0.

CONSENT AGENDA

A letter transmitting financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1995. (Receive and file.) Approved, 6-0.

REGULAR AGENDA

Two ordinances approving a right of way agreement with Virginia Electric and Power Company. Approved, 6-0.

An ordinance authorizing membership in the Employees' Retirement System of the City for persons employed pursuant to Ordinance No. 38,024. Approved, 6-0.

An ordinance authorizing the City Treasurer to docket a lien against certain lands or premises for the expenses to abate nuisances. Approved, 6-0.

An ordinance accepting a $200,000 Virginia Board of Conservation and Development of Public Beaches grant and appropriating the grant funds. Approved, 6-0.

An ordinance amending and reordaining sections 1 and 3 of Ordinance No. 38,022, regarding the Delinquency Prevention and Youth Development Project to increase the state's share of the project budget by $2,003 and appropriating that amount. Approved, 6-0.

An ordinance accepting a $15,000 Virginia Department of Transportation Alternative Fuels Revolving Fund Grant and appropriating the grant funds. Approved, 6-0.

An ordinance approving a grant application to the Virginia Department of Economic Development's Tourism Division, appropriating $133,000 and providing a local match of $133,000. Approved, 6-0.

An ordinance approving an application to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention to compete for funding in the amount of $1.4 million for the ``Safe-futures'' initiative. Approved, 6-0.

An ordinance authorizing the City Manager to cancel one Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for the operation of taxicabs in the city heretofore issued to Taxi Express and authorizing the City Manager to issue a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for the operation of taxicabs in the city to Andrew Felix, t/a Ace Cab Company, Inc. Approved, 6-0.

An ordinance appropriating $1,250,000 in state grant funds to support planning a community college campus. Approved, 6-0.

An ordinance granting a Downtown Development Certificate to Peter G. Decker Jr., authorizing the construction of an addition to an office building at 865 Monticello Ave. Approved, 6-0.
