William Harold Baxley, 78, of the 200 block of Cypress Road, died Aug. 23, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
He was a native of Robeson County, N.C., and was a retired supervisor of St. Julian's Creek Ammunition Depot after 30 years. Mr. Baxley was a member of Alexander Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and Churchland Masonic Lodge (NU)276, Portsmouth. He was also a member of Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Temple, D.A.V. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Elena Price Baxley; three sisters, Nannie Nye of Orrum, N.C., Joanne Granger of Lumberton, N.C., and Pearl Wilcox of Lumberton; one brother, William Howard Watts of Lumberton.
A funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 1995, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Alan G. Moor. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
