DAVID W. HUGHES

David Wilds Hughes, 73, of the 3900 block of Plum Lane, died Aug. 22, 1995, after a long illness, in a Portsmouth hospital.

He was a native of Kenton, Del., and was a retired supervisor-electronics engineer-at St. Julian's Annex. He was 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army and served during World War II and the Korean War. He was also a member of AARP. He was the widower of Virginia B. Hughes.

He is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth R. Hughes of Chesapeake and Ginger L. Reed of North Stonington, Conn.; one son, Jan P. Hughes of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Mary Louise Hughes of Hockessin, Del., Elizabeth Arnold of Kennett Square, Pa., and Clara Conly of Wilmington, Del.; two brothers, Edward Hughes of Kenton, Del. and Richard Hughes of Wilmington, Del.; and one grandson, Samuel C. Reed.

A memorial service will be held noon Sept. 10, 1995, in Hillcrest Cemetery, 1911 Forest Drive, Annapolis, Md. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
