Melvin Douglas ``Handyman'' Bradshaw, 58, of 7453 Elwood Drive, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 1995, at Obici Hospital.
Mr. Bradshaw was a native of Southampton County and was the son of the late Linwood and Alma Bulls Bradshaw. He was retired from Union Camp Corporation as a machine operator in the sheet finishing deptartment and was a herdsman for Brandywynne Farms. He was a member of Colossee Baptist Church and a former member of Black Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Bradshaw was a former National Guardsman and a member of Community Hunt Club.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Worrell Bradshaw; three sons, Melvin Douglas ``Brad'' Bradshaw Jr. and Dennis Bradshaw, both of Windsor, Va., and Ken Bradshaw of Suffolk; two stepsons, Carroll Scott of Franklin and Keith Scott of Suffolk; two stepdaughters, Betty Ann Jackson of Carrsville and Paula Manson of Suffolk; two sisters, Rena B. Jones of Winterville, N.C. and Doreen B. Bradshaw of Black Creek; one brother, Joseph Bradshaw of Franklin; and five stepgrandsons.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 1995, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Ed. Sunday-Winters. The burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and suggest that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 116 Southampton Road, Franklin, Va. 23851.
