Vandolyn D. Cummings, 85, died Aug. 22, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
She was the widow of Jay G. Cummings and was a retired dance instructor with Cummings Academy of Dance. She was also a retired kindergarten teacher at Castle Kindergarten. She had worked for 50 years. Mrs. Cummings was a member of First Christian Church and was the founder of Tidewater Early Childhood Association, a life member of Dance Masters of America, past president of Chapter 17 of Dance Masters of America, member of the Ladies Shrine Association, president of the Lafayette Yacht Club, Women's Association, and a member of Roberts Rules of Parliamentary Procedures.
She is survived by one daughter, Jeanne T. Fisher of Norfolk; one brother, Bryce Wagoner of Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren, Warren Fisher Jr. of Charleston, S.C., Brack Fisher of Norfolk, and Terri Moore of Poquoson, Va.; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Charles G. Harrison. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m.
