Dorothy Sherwood Hammond, of the 4400 block of Deacon Ave., died Aug. 22, 1995, in her home.
She was a native of Norfolk and was the widow of James Mason Hammond Sr. She was Protestant.
Survivors include one sister, Harriet R. Cunningham of Virginia Beach; one brother, William Carroll Sherwood of Florida; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, James Mason Hammond II.
The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Hampton National Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, today, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
