Walter ``J.R.'' Cooper III, of the 1900 block of Stillmeadow Court, died Aug. 21, 1995.
He is survived by his wife, Belinda Cooper; two daughters, Yanetta Cox of Norfolk, and Rakaba Simmons of Portsmouth; four stepchildren, Tawanda Chambliss of Fort Eustis, Shirena Murphy, James Murphy and Reginald Murphy, all of Virginia Beach; mother, Bessie Baxter; father, Walter Cooper II, both of Virginia Beach; six sisters, Gastie Farmer, Loretta Hudson, Bonita Jones, Bonnie Reese, Connie Williams, Deneen Burden, all of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Donald Cooper, and Carlton Cooper, both of Virginia Beach; grandmother, Luvenia Cooper of Newport News; stepfather, Phillip Baxter of Virginia Beach; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Lynnhaven Baptist Church by the Rev. David Bradley. Pretlow and Son's Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling the arrangements.
