MAN CARJACKED, ROBBED

A Portsmouth man told police his car was stolen Tuesday night when his path was blocked by a man on a bike and another man put a gun to his head and ordered him out of the car.

The incident took place about 11:15 p.m. in the 900 block of Argyle St. The motorist said the man who forced him out of his 1990 Pontiac Grand Am drove away in the car. Then the young man on the bicycle ordered the motorist at gunpoint to lie down in the street. He was robbed of $38 and stripped of tennis shoes valued at $60.

The carjack victim said six people, all armed, were in the street when he was stopped. The suspects were not described.
