STANLEY A. GARRISS JR.

Stanley Adams Garriss Jr., 60, of the 1300 block of Big Bethel Road, died Aug. 22, 1995, in his residence.

He was a native of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and was retired from the Air Force as a Lt. Col., where he served 25 years as a pilot. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Garriss of New York City; one son, Michael Garriss of Colorado; his mother, Kathleen Holland Garriss of Portsmouth; aunt, Iris Cooper of Portsmouth; three cousins, Carolyn Waters, Herbert Holland, and Mary Padgett; and fiancee, Sherry De Censo of Yorktown, Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley A. Garriss Sr., and his son, Timothy Paul Garriss.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. today in Langley Base Chapel, Main Chapel. Burial is in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
