Jonathan McNeal Carey, 18, of 1522 Lake Speight Drive, departed this life Aug. 20, 1995.
He was a native of Suffolk, Va. He graduated from Lakeland High School in June 1995. Jonathan possessed an outstanding talent in the arts where he planned to further his studies. Also because of his interest in the culinary arts, he had considered attending Johnson and Wales University or Paul D. Camp Community College. He belonged to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on White Marsh Road, Suffolk.
His survivors include his parents, James M. Carey Sr. and Mrs. Brenda M. Carey, both of Suffolk; brother, James M. Carey Jr. of Suffolk; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Eula M. Hopkins of Suffolk; paternal grandfather, James B. Carey of Portsmouth; eight aunts; six uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be held Saturday, Aug. 26, 1995, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on White Marsh Road, Suffolk, by Brother Ulysses Meely. Burial will be in the Meadowbrook Memorial Garden, Suffolk. There will be no public viewing. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling the arrangements.
