Jose Ruiz, 92, of the 3500 block of Dunedin Drive, died Friday, Aug. 25, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Ruiz, a native of Santurce, Puerto Rico, was retired from Sapolin Paint Co., in New York, as a processor. He was a member of St. Therese's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rafaela Ruiz; a daughter, Haydee R. Davenport of Actworth, Ga.; two sons, Henry Ruiz of Virginia Beach and Joseph M. Ruiz of Chesapeake; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at noon today in St. Therese's Catholic Church by the Rev. James C. Griffin. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Mausoleum with Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth Chapel, in charge. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or St. Therese's Catholic Church.
