FITNESS UPDATE

``HELP! I'm stuck at my current weight after surgery and and I can't get it off,'' came the plaintive refrain from a caller to our BFIT line.

The phone was ringing again last week with more folks joining Fitness Quest and pledging their goals.

Not everyone, though, was looking to take weight off. ``I'm underweight and flabby,'' confessed one new recruit. ``I need to learn how to exercise and eat better.''

If you'd like to join Fitness Quest or just learn more about exercise and nutrition, call Infoline at 640-5555 and then press BFIT (2348). It's not too late to get on board. Fitness Quest runs through December.

Fitness Quest members are invited to free exercise classes Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at Contemporary Fitness, 306 W. 21st Street, Norfolk. For more information, call Wendy Pirovolos at 622-9469.

Each week 10 callers who pledge their goals are selected at random to receive a ``Go for Fit'' T-shirt.

This week's winners are:

M. Bruno, Norfolk; J. Buchheit, Chesapeake; B. Ferraro, Chesapeake; T. Fischer, Chesapeake; D. Mayberry, Virginia Beach; K. Miller, Chesapeake; P. Reily, Virginia Beach; C. Reiter, Norfolk; A. Shannon, Virginia Beach; S. Storherr, Willis Wharf, Va. You can order a T-shirt by sending your name, address, shirt size and a check or money order for $10.45 (includes tax) to The Virginian-Pilot, Fitness T-Shirt, P.O. Box 1978, Norfolk, Va. 23501. by CNB
