Nina Taliaferro Foster of the 1700 block of West Princeton Road died Aug. 26, 1995, in her residence.
She was born in Essex County and was a daughter of the late William and Daisy Chapman Taliaferro. Mrs. Foster attended Mary Washington College, William and Mary, and the University of Virginia. She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in Falls Church, Va., Walton Elementary School in Prince George County, Va., and in schools in Germany, France and Japan.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lt. Col. Robert W. Foster Jr. (U.S. Army retired); two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Richard Rhoades of Hanover County, Catherine and Michael Chester Jr. of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Daisy T. Gouldin of Essex County, Phoebe T. Williamson of Chester; two brothers, Trent G. Taliaferro and Andrew B. Taliaferro, both of Essex County.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Petersburg, by Father Robert M. Spencer. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George County. A Christian Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Homes, 103 South Adams St., with a visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m.
