JOSEPH L. JONES

Lt. Col. Joseph Leonard Jones, U.S. Army retired, 90, of 3100 Shore Drive, died Aug. 25, 1995, in his residence.

Lt. Col. Jones was a native of Sparrows Point, Md. He was a member of Lynnhaven Colony Congregational Church in Virginia Beach. Lt. Col. Jones was a graduate of the University of Maryland. He served in World War II, and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxillary Flotilla 57. He was also a life-time member of the Masonic Patapsco Lodge 183. He retired from the Pentagon after 20 years with the Civil Service.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanore S. Jones; one daughter, Ellen J. Powers, both of Virginia Beach; one nephew, Roy J. Fahl of Wilmington, Del.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 1995, in Westminster Canterbury by the Rev. Dr. Fred Grosse. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 1995, in Arlington National Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, are handling arrangements.
