Ira Williams, 87, of the 900 block of Denhart St., died Aug. 26, 1995.
Mr. Williams, a clothier, was born in Norfolk and was a Baptist. He was the son of the late Richard and Rosa Williams Sr. He was raised by his sister and her husband, Corean and Ira J. Cupid. Mr. Williams made his home in New York City until the last five years of his life, where he resided with his great-nephew, George B. Wilson, until he became ill.
Survivors include two nephews, Marcel Wilson and George Wilson Jr., both of Norfolk; one niece-in-law, Virginia B. Wilson; three great-nephews; five great-nieces; several great-great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by Pastor Clement Murphy Jr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The remains will be ready for viewing at 3 p.m. today. The family will assemble at the Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
