ROBERT L. ALFORD

Dr. Robert Lee Alford, 55, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 1995, at Sentara Hampton General Hospital.

Born in Dillon, S.C., he had been a resident of Hampton for the past 20 years where he was a member of St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church. Dr. Alford retired as Director of Testing and Associate Professor of Psychology from Norfolk State University in 1994 with 17 years of service. He was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Norfolk and the Eastern Star Lodge (NU)13 F.& A.M., Hampton.

His survivors include a daughter, Inglish Alford of Hampton; a sister, Eunice Hansford of Paterson, N.J.; two brothers, Franklin Alford of Hampton and Lindwood Baldwin Jr. of Paterson, N.J.; his mother and stepfather, Nancy and Lindwood Baldwin Sr.; and two aunts, Alice Crawford of Paterson, N.J. and Bertha Brown of Newark, N.J.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 1995, in St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church by the Rev. James H. Hall.
