Glenn L. Thomson, 67, died Aug. 10, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Thomson, a retired general foreman of the Mechanical Department at the Norfolk Terminal of the Norfolk Southern Corp., worked in the railroad industry for 43 years. He was born in Carnegie, Pa., and was a Baptist. He was a member of West Gate-Cyrus Masonic Lodge (NU)520, and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonary-S.J. U.S.A. A U.S. Army veteran, he served from 1948 to 1952 as a sergeant first class.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy ``Dot'' L. Thomson; three daughters, Dawn L. and husband, Ed Diebold of Columbia, S.C., Kim L. Thomson of Virginia Beach, and Connie L. Thomson of Norfolk; two sisters, Marian Smithley of Pennsylvania and Helen Henretty of Delaware; two brothers, Kenny Thomson and Bill Thomson, both of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Kristen Mangrum, Neal, Heather, and Jenna Diebold. He was predeceased by his mother, Etta Thomson; and father, William Thomson; two sisters, Dorothy Habjanetz and Ethel McCartney; and one brother, David Thomson.
Services were held Saturday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m. in Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall, Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. J. Allen Johnson. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 11, 1995, from noon to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Masonic rites were accorded at the grave.
