Edna Virginia Helms, 100, died in Riverside Hospital on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 1995.
She was the widow of Charles J. Helms Sr. and the mother of three deceased children, Charles J. Helms Jr., Ruth E. Lux and Lonnie E. Helms. She was a native of Charlotte, N.C., and was a member of Miles Memorial Methodist Church in Ocean View.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Barbara Hester of Virginia Beach; Shirley Terry and Charles Helms Ford, both of Chesapeake, Sandra Hornak of Middletown, N.J.; and daughter-in-law, Doris Helms Estes of Newport News; 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hollomon & Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive, Norfolk. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today.
