DARE SCHOOLS TO CLOSE EARLY FRIDAY

Dare County schools will dismiss early Friday for countywide staff development.

All schools will close at 12:30 p.m. except Cape Hatteras School and Kitty Hawk School, which will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. because of bus schedules.

Students and parents need to note the 12:30 dismissal at most schools, because some previous announcements said dismissal would be earlier.

Students and parents also are reminded that there is no school on Monday, in observance of Labor Day.

School lunch will be served Friday, and any parent needing afternoon child care can contact those schools offering the After-School Enrichment Program: Manteo, First Flight and Kitty Hawk elementary schools.

At Manteo High School, electricity will be turned off Friday at 2 p.m. for a wiring project. Without electricity, the phones at the school will not work.

All other Friday afternoon and evening activities, including the football game, will proceed as planned. by CNB
