EDO UNIT AWARDED CANADIAN CONTRACT

The Canadian Department of National Defense has awarded a $1.4 million contract to EDO Corp.'s Combat Systems business unit in Chesapeake.

The contract is for the production of radar consoles and related systems for the Canadian Navy. The equipment should enhance command and control and data transfer within the Canadian fleet.

The Combat Systems unit in Chesapeake is part of EDO's Defense and Space Systems Division. The unit employs about 90 people in the office. EDO is based in College Point, N.Y. by CNB
