ERNEST S. HOUSTON

Ernest S. ``Sam'' Houston, 67, of the 5000 block of Floral St., died Aug. 29, 1995, in a local hospital.

Mr. Houston, a retired supervisor, worked for Virginia Power-Vepco for 42 years. He was born in Hopewell, Va., and was a member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel J. Houston of Virginia Beach; one daughter, Sharon Majestic of West Virginia; two sons, Ernest S. Houston Jr. of Norfolk, and Mark D. Houston of Newport News; one step-daughter, Shelia Whitley of Virginia Beach; four step-sons, Lewis McClenney, Jerry McClenney, Samuel Jenkins, all of Virginia Beach, and Marty Jenkins of Norfolk; and 14 grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Donald Sawyer and the Rev. Mike Beckner. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
