Walter A. Young, 78, formerly of the 900 block of Potomac Ave., died Aug. 28, 1995, in DePaul Medical Center.
Mr. Young, a petty officer 1st class, retired from the U.S. Navy after 25 years. He also retired from the Naval Regional Medical Center. He was born in Rincon, Ga. He was the widower of Helena Young, and former member of Queen St. Baptist Church, Norfolk. He was founder and past president of the Retired Reunion Association.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon E. Bremby; three sisters; two grandchildren, Wallesia Mooyin and Nijah Nichols; a grandson-in-law, Michael Mooyin; step-granddaughter, Raven Bremby; two great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Randolph Bremby; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Pentecostal Church of Christ Holiness by the Rev. James E. Taylor of Savannah, Ga. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge.
