Floyd Edward Johnson Sr., 72, of the 2100 block of Benefit Road, died Aug. 27, 1995.
Mr. Johnson, a retired crane operator, worked for Eppsun and Russell, Chesapeake, for 38 years. He was born in Camden, N.C., and was a former member of Foreman's Temple AME Zion Church, Chesapeake.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie Johnson; three daughters, Catherine Boone of Norfolk, Sharon Hinton of Virginia Beach, Cynthia McEachin of Chesapeake; four sons, Floyd E. Johnson Jr., Louis Johnson, both of Chesapeake, Charles Johnson of Norfolk, Nelson Johnson of Chesapeake; 35 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Charlie Johnson; two sisters; two brothers; and his grandparents.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Baptist Rock Baptist Church, 3233 Lake Drummond Road, Chesapeake, by the Rev. James Smith. Burial will be in Baptist Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 2129 Benefit Road, Chesapeake, Saturday at noon for the funeral procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk, in charge.
