The 1995 Outer Banks Triathlon, sponsored by the Dare Voluntary Action Center, will be held Saturday, Sept. 9.
The race will begin at 9 a.m. at the Ole Swimming Hole behind the North Carolina Aquarium on the north end of Roanoke Island.
The course consists of a six-tenths of a mile swim, a 15-mile bike ride and ends with a 3.1-mile run. More than 300 athletes from all over the United States are expected to compete.
The Triathlon, a major fund-raiser for DVAC, is made possible by the support of local businesses and volunteers. More than 250 people volunteered last year.
