A headline for a story that ran Thursday on Page 1 about the
alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl by a group of boys incorrectly
described the incident as a ``gang rape.'' Technically, the assault
was not gang rape but rather an alleged rape by a group of boys over
a period of hours, court officials said.
Correction published Friday, September 1, 1995.
